Launchpad Privacy Notice

This notice supplements the Stan Privacy Policy. Bracketed items are open and will be closed before publication.
This Privacy Notice explains how Find Community, Inc., doing business as Stan ("Stan," "we," "us"), collects and uses personal information in connection with Launchpad, our filmed startup competition, and the Launchpad Site at launchpad.stan.com. It supplements the Stan Privacy Policy at stanwith.me/privacy, which continues to apply, including its descriptions of website data, cookies, your rights, international transfers, and how to contact us. Where this notice is more specific, it controls for Launchpad.
1. What we collect
Depending on how far you go in the process, we may collect:
- Application information. Your name, email, phone number, location, company name and description, team members, stage, funding and revenue information, links to your product and social profiles, and your application video.
- Stanley conversation. The content of your text-message conversation with Stanley, our AI assistant, during the application, including anything you choose to share.
- Verification information. Information used to confirm your identity, age, eligibility, company status, and, for international applicants, your legal ability to enter the United States and participate.
- Background check information. If you receive a conditional offer, a criminal background check obtained from a consumer reporting agency with your separate written authorization, and a review of your public online presence.
- Health and safety information. If you are accepted, dietary needs, allergies, medications, physical limitations relevant to program activities, emergency contacts, and medical clearance for physical challenges.
- Travel information. Travel documents, itineraries, and related details needed to arrange your transportation and lodging.
- Recordings. If you are accepted, video, audio, and photographs of you captured during the program, including your image, voice, and likeness.
- Prize and tax information. For the winning team, company banking details and tax identification numbers needed to pay the prize and report it.
- Site data. Usage, device, and cookie information as described in the Stan Privacy Policy.
2. How we use it
We use this information to evaluate applications; verify eligibility; run background and digital-footprint screening; communicate with you by text, email, and phone; arrange travel, lodging, and meals; keep participants safe and respond to emergencies; produce, edit, market, and distribute the Launchpad series and related content; administer the competition and pay the prize; comply with law; and protect our rights. We do not use health or safety information for any purpose other than participant safety and program logistics, and we do not use it in judging.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed for the purposes above, with: our service providers, including Stanley's technology providers, screening and background check vendors, travel agents, and medical or safety personnel; Allaway, LLC, which operates the program venue and provides on-site services; production partners, crew, and editors working on the series; judges, speakers, and invited investors, who receive company and founder information for Demo Day and judging; distributors, platforms, and insurers involved in releasing the series; other participants, to the extent your team and company information is part of the program; our professional advisors; and authorities where required by law. Recordings of accepted participants may be distributed publicly as part of the series and related content. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Text messages
The Launchpad application runs by text message with Stanley. By starting an application you consent to receive automated texts from Stan and Stanley about your application and, if accepted, about the program. Reply STOP to opt out at any time; if you opt out before your application is complete, we may not be able to consider it. Message and data rates may apply.
5. How long we keep it
We keep application information for applicants who are not accepted for [12 months] after the application window closes, then delete or anonymize it, unless we need it longer for legal reasons. For accepted participants, we keep application, verification, and program information for [the duration of the program and seven years after], and background check results for [no longer than needed to make the acceptance decision and then as required by law]. Recordings are kept for as long as the series and related content are distributed. Health and safety information is deleted [within 90 days after the program ends] unless needed for an incident record.
6. Your choices and rights
You may withdraw your application at any time by contacting us. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, subject to the limits in the Stan Privacy Policy and to our need to keep certain records. Withdrawing after signing the Participant Agreement is governed by that agreement, and rights in recordings already made are governed by the media release in it. To exercise any right, contact us at the address in Section 9.
7. Age
Launchpad is open only to people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 in connection with Launchpad. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
8. International applicants
Stan is located in the United States and processes information there. If you apply from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. The Stan Privacy Policy describes the safeguards we use and our representative in the EU and UK.
